Germany
Berlin
Overview:
Berlin, the capital of Germany, from its politics, culture, business and financial institutions, is a major player in the functioning of the European community. The city may appear overwhelming for those arriving from the countryside and while the major sights are quite spread out, the public transportation sytem enables you to get around easily. For this reason you may want to avoid driving in the city and instead, fly in or arrive by train.
The night life, shopping, museums, monuments, cuisine, history and energy of the city are the equal of any European capital city. Setting Berlin apart from the others is its more recent history. The monuments and sites of the second world war and the aftermath of the repressive communist government on the other side of 'the wall' are important reminders. However, Berlin, is also a beautiful residential city and is referred to as a city of water and partks. One-third of the city's real estate is open to public space.
There are wonderful luxury boutique hotels, inns and castle hotels in the Berlin reion as shown on our selective list of Berlin Hotels .
