Pacific Northwest

The Oregon coast meets the Pacific Ocean on its western border. Mist and mild temperatures, awe-inspiring scenery and a wide range of recreational activities makes this one of the state's most popular regions. Further to the east the Cascade Mountains cuts through the state in a north/south swath. Continue east and arid desert can be found particularly in the southeast. For its size Oregon offers a great deal of geographic diversity.

Wild, sometimes untamed rivers are prominent on the Oregon landscape. The Columbia River and Columbia Gorge is a major recreation area as well as being a major contributor to the economic and cultural development of the state. Further to the south, the Rogue River is known for its world class fishing and rapids.

Oregon is not all about outdoor recreation, although it sometimes seems so. In the south, the theatrical town of Ashland is famous for its Shakespeare Festival making southern Oregon the Bard's Capital in the New World. To the north Portland, the state's largest city, has an intimate feel and offers the amenities to match any major city in the world.

Our list of Oregon Hotels includes memorable small hotels, inns, bed and breakfasts and boutique hotels. We have lodgings in every price range but all have special qualities to recommend them.
